As is tradition for the Sotonia 25 mile championships, it was a warm evening on the three-and-a-bit lap P128/25 course near Cadnam. A few riders were held up by traffic at roundabouts, but otherwise it was a very good evening with only a gentle breeze.
Ant Gritton put in a dominating performance to win the event by 2m33s from Phil Wilks in second place and James Peckham in third place 49s behind Wilks.
Gritton also won the 10 mile championships in June and is now setting his sights beyond “club level” competitions with the National 25 Mile Championships on 5th August. We are all eager to see how he fares against the country’s best riders.
