New Forest CC Club 10 05/05/16 Results/Report

A beautiful New Forest spring evening greeted the riders who were participating in round 4 of the NFCC 10 Series. A full field of 50 riders took to the start line and with a gentle south westerly, fast times were expected. The event also doubled up as an Interclub challenge with Sotonia CC, both clubs were well represented with riders. It was again Ben Boardman who just held the rapidly closing Phil Wilks from Sotonia in 22:34 and 22:41 respectively. James Bannister (23:15) made up the podium position just keeping the improving Antony Green (23:21) at bay. Ben holds a nine point lead in Division 1 from Antony after four events. Bob Dowling (25:23) pipped Lyndon Thompson (25:30) by a mere 7 seconds for the honours in Division 2. Richard Mason maintained his top three finishing record in all events to take third place, but it is Lyndon who tops the division at this stage with 57 points, from Bob with 53. In his first recorded event for the club, juvenile rider Oliver Moody gave his more experienced competitors something to think about prevailing in Division 3 in a great time of 27:44. Adam Conti gained his second consecutive second place in 28:09.
In the Interclub standings, it was New Forest CC who took the honours on this occasion in a very competitive event, 16 points to 20. It should be noted that 9 riders between the two clubs broke the 24 minute mark, with just over a minute covering them all. Julia Shaw representing Drag2Zero was the fastest of the private riders, also going under 24 minutes in 23:12.
