Bournemouth Jubilee Wheelers will be running a series of cycle sport coaching sessions for young people aged between 7 years and 16 years old at the Bournemouth Velodrome (BH10 4EP). Sessions will be open to all riders, no matter what club they belong to.
Called "Saturday Morning Race Track" the sessions will be organised around different ability groups. The sessions will develop fitness and technique and the series aims to get riders up to competition standard to enable them to race on the track. The session leader will be Richard Eastham, a qualified and accredited British Cycling coach with experience of working with young people in a sports coaching environment.
Fixed-gear track racing bikes will be made available at each session. Riders will need to wear their own helmet and suitable clothing. Riders must also bring a drink and a snack. No need to book, just turn up on the day.
The format will comprise skills, drills and general coaching for the first 90 minutes and then the last half hour will be dedicated to coach-led racing to support those riders wishing to take part in formal track racing events. Sessions will cost £8 per rider for the first 90 minutes or £10 for the full two hours. This fee includes access to a fixed-wheel hire bicycle. Those taking part in the sessions for the first time will need to present a completed parental consent form. These will be available on the day.
If the session has to be cancelled due to wet weather, an announcement will be made via Twitter (@feria_sport) at least one hour before the session start time.

There will be a series of nine track sessions for adults at the Bournemouth Velodrome (BH10 4EP) starting in May. These sessions are promoted by the Bournemouth Jubilee Wheelers but are also open to all riders, no matter what club they belong to. The session leader will be Richard Eastham, a qualified and accredited British Cycling coach
Each session will accommodate riders with a variety of ability levels and will include drills for more experienced riders and for those looking for something a bit less demanding. A structured warm-up will be followed by quality coaching sessions and over the course of the series it is hoped that all track disciplines can be covered. Sessions will cost £7 per rider. Hire bikes, if required, will be £3.
If the session has to be cancelled due to wet weather, an announcement will be made via Twitter (@feria_sport) at least one hour before the session start time.
