Calm benign spring conditions greeted the participants for New Forest Cycling Clubs 25 mile Time Trial this Sunday morning. The event was held on the “sporting” forest P335 course. The course is one of the more picturesque in the New Forest, taking in Wilverley Plain, Brockenhurst, Rhinefield and Burley en route. Club secretary Stewart Ward was in dominant form finishing the course in respectable 1:04:31, ahead of the previously dominant Nick Buck in 1:06:50. Rob Ellis made the top three, recording a competitive time of 1:07:25. Stewart underplayed his performance and commented that he was just pleased to have been able to deliver a competitive time at this stage of the season. The NFCC 10 Series which starts on Tuesday looks to be very competitive this season, with fireworks expected all the way. Nick Austin representing Sotonia CC, came home in the fastest time overall in 1:02:05 from Matt Dixon riding for Soton Tri Club in 1:04:11 and Paul Lockyer (DH Cycles)made up the top three in 1:05:57.
