New Forest CC Club 10 05/04/16 Results

P311 Ringwood-Sopley
Andrew Hanley reports.......Gary Lock laid down an early season marker in the first of the New Forest Cycling Club’s 10 series on the Ringwood to Sopley P311 course. The conditions were calm and dry, but a cloud burst over Sopley made the turn a bit nervy for the riders as the roads were saturated. Gary recorded a time of 23:00, some sixteen seconds clear of Sasha Ring. Gary held a 30 second advantage at the turn of the course, Sasha clawed back some of the deficit, but Gary had the strength after three races earlier in the week to hold off Sasha’s charge. Third place was a tie between James Bannister and Ben Boardman in 23:22. Richard Mason recorded a fine personal best of 25:55 to take the honours in Division 2 ahead of Bob Dowling in 26:38. Lyndon Thomson made up the top three in 27:11. Michael Wheatley was first home in Division 3, a mere thirteen seconds ahead of Peter Weaver in 29:2 and 29:35 respectively. Mark Valentine representing Poole Whelers was the quickest of the private riders in 23:09, with Antony Green from GA Cycles in 23:37.
