Poole Wheelers, Gary Dighton Memorial 10, Report,Results,Pictures

“If I could only win one open this year this one is it” said a clearly emotional Paul Jones (Primera-sport.com) after winning the Poole Wheelers Gary Dighton Memorial 10. Jones, good friend and training partner of the late Dighton took the win by three seconds from Mike Ford (Pewsey Racing) with Gregg Parker (VC ST Raphael/Waites Contracts) a further 14 seconds back in third place. Parker, still nursing a shoulder injury from a crash the previous week led St Raphael to the team award backed up by Jimmy Little & Terry Icke. The cheap speed offered by the P415 “Ski Slope” course on the edge of Poole harbour always attracts a big field, though most of the 95 who entered lost time on the headwind trip down to the Bakers Arms roundabout.
