Bournemouth & District Women's CA 25, Report/Results

Sam Wadsley led a Primera-Teamjobs 1-2 on his way to victory in the Bournemouth & District Womens’ Cycling Association Open 25 at Upton. Wadsley ground out an impressive 52:44 on a chilly, breezy morning on the p413 Uton by-pass course. Teammate Paul Jones also looked fast,clocking 53:41 as the Primera mechanics made light of the less than ideal conditions. Simon Berogna ( VC St Raphael/Waites Contracts) conceded 1 minute & 20 seconds to Jones taking third place. Louisa Cooper (Bournemouth Jubilee Wheelers), riding in new team colours delivered in the week, was the fastest women with 1:03:32 ahead of Ellie Gilham (Dream Cycling) 1:07:20. It was Wadsley’s 3rd win of the season but it is power PB’s and fast times that motivate the 21 year old not victories and he will be chasing both in the Welsh championships next weekend on the dragstrip R25 course. The modest field of 32 was less than half for same event few years back, scratchman Gary Chambers (NoPinz) was a non-starter as continuing health concerns threaten to derail his season.
