Martin Rowland (UK BIKING- Bournemouth Cycleworks) took his second victory in the Moreton series as his UK Biking-Bournemouth Cycleworks team claimed three of the top four places. Veteran Steve Dring tried his luck with a mile to go before Rowland took over, confidently winning the gallop from Steve Cole (Mud Sweat Gears) and teammate Ryan Weston with 16 year old Chris McLaughlin taking fourth spot for the series sponsors.
UK Biking captain Dring, along with Mark Valentine (Poole Wheelers) Jon Webber (Webber RT) Pete Carter and Dan Murphy among others, had ridden well to hold off the scratch group, coming together just before the bell, to set up the usual sprint finish.
In the womens race a dead heat was declared, the judges unable to separate Lora White (Hub CC) and Emily Hingston (Purbeck Peloton) both were denied a victory celebration crossing the line hidden in the ungallant bunch, having been swept up in the finishing straight.
