Moreton Race 6, Eastwood 5 Brazil 3!

Jay Eastwood scored his fifth win at Moreton winning a scrappy sprint from Matt Hill (Primera-UK Biking) just as Brazil were kicking the World Cup off against Croatia. Eastwood, nursing a fractured wrist from a fall in the Shaftesbury Criterium at the weekend, still had enough confidence to bully his way to the front of the congested pack; however there was no victory salute, caution triumphs over ego once you are past 40! The sunlit pursuit brought the race together with 3 laps to go, Pete Bielby (Primera-UK Biking) and Matt Mildon (Mud, Sweat ‘n Gears) enjoyed a brief moment of freedom before being swept up; if you cannot sprint you have to find a way to win, just keep knocking on the door!! Steve Dring (Primera-UK Biking) always knocks on the last lap but has yet to get an answer. You would put your house on Eastwood winning the Moreton World Cup, you might risk a shilling on England winning the FIFA version but we live in hope!
