Wishing all our readers a happy Christmas and a successful 2014. “Local Riders, Local Races” would also like to thank the countless people who contribute results and cycling news,(We could not do it without you)and of course our advertisers. The New Year will hold plenty of racing opportunities in the south, the dependable Mountbatten circuits promoted by Sue & Tim Knight, and the new Friday night Bournemouth track league will run season-long. The Rob Jefferies Memorial open track meeting takes place on 20th July courtesy of Poole Wheelers. Bournemouth Jubilee Wheelers bring the National 50 mile time trial championships to Dorset on 7/8th June. Along with the Thursday evening Moreton road series, the guys at UK Biking will also promote two British Cycling road races in Dorset and Mountain biking will return to Crow Hill on April 27th and to Wareham forest (Date to be confirmed). Entries for the “Local Riders, Local Races” sponsored “One Day in Dorset” will open on January 1st and the 97 mile course in rural Dorset will produce a classic race. Watch out too for some exciting news in January on the Bournemouth Criterium! Bike racing in Dorset & the south of England really is on the up and 2014 promises to be a great year!
