Debut Win for Cox! Moreton Race 2

Sixteen year old Barnaby Cox (Gillingham & Dist Wh) scored his first win on the road in round 2 of the Moreton evening series. Cox took advantage of a lack lustre scratch group that was still 2 minutes adrift with only two laps remaining. The youngster timed his sprint to perfection, sitting on when things started to get lively; he hit the front with the line in sight and was a bike length clear as he shouted “YES”. On a sunny evening, riders were being turned away as the field limit of 60 was quickly reached. (Pre-enter or get there early was the lesson for the unlucky) With some of their firepower missing and the handicapper in a bad mood, it was always going to be a difficult chase for a group that had too many passengers. Cox was not interested in the troubles behind and fancies himself as a bit of a sprinter. He was not the only beneficiary, with the top ten full of unfamiliar names, the series just got interesting.
