Bowers Best in a Full House at Moreton!

Stuart Bowers (Hargroves Cycles) won the opening round of the Moreton evening kermesse series, on a wet and windy night in Dorset. Bowers edged out sprint-king, Jason Eastwood (Primera-sport.com), the pair shoulder to shoulder, in the fading light. Despite the poor weather, race organiser Richard Lang was forced to delay the start by 15 minutes to allow a full field of 60 to sign-on. The one hour + 1 lap of the flat three mile circuit is run as a handicap and the scratch group, off last, were soon catching the riders in front. Driven by Bowers, the pace was high with riders being shelled out the back as the race wore on, and with two laps remaining the field was altogether, with the smart legs saving themselves for the bunch kick. Bowers beamed "I have not raced for 18 months & "its only training" while Eastwood regretted "not finding the gear" & "spinning out"
