New Forest CC Club 10 07/08/12

Bob Jolliffe reports……SHORTLY after Anna Meares kept GB’s Queen Vic off the Olympic sprint throne fellow Aussie Mark Fenner was ruling the roost at Ringwood in New Forest CC’s 10.The Nowra Velo rider, who claimed a win in Bournemouth Arrow CC’s 10 on the Sopley course on July 19 with a remarkable 20-35, ignored the strong south-westerly wind that slowed the rest of the field and stormed to victory in the Forest event on the Kingston loop in 21-30.With New Forest’s Gary Lock feeling tired and out for a ride instead of competing, Ben Boardman away and John Heffernan crashing to 25-22, GA Cycles’ Simon Barnes was his nearest challenger with 23-46.Second claim NFCC rider Martin Beale (VC St Raphael) took third with 24-10 while James Bannister was top home rider with 25-11 in fourth place.Another second claim member, Stuart Grace (GA Cycles) was fifth, followed by Forest competitors Chris Grant (25-21), Heffernan, Tony Rendell (25-29) and 16-year-old Hugo Walters (25-35).Others (NFCC unless stated): Rob Ellis (VC St Raphael) 26-01, Howard Doe 26-04, Tom Butler 26-17, Andrew Hanley 26-19, Anja Heijnen (VO2) 26-44, Richard Mason 26-51, Phil Underwood 26-54, Max Holloway 26-55, Julian Sheppard (Sotonia CC) 27-02, Konnor Bracher-Walsh 27-08, David Bourne (Come and Try It) 27-39, Nigel Finch (Mercia CC) 27-50, Phil Wilks (Come and Try It) 28-14, Peter Weaver 28-38, Richard Wills 29-11, Antony Moyle 29-47, Alex Brampton (Come and Try It) 30-28, Phil Jones 30-46, Roger Bacon 31-18, Bob Jolliffe 31-25.
